iPod classic freeze

As any owner of an iPod classic will discover at some point during their ownership of this device, the iPod will occasionally freeze. By freeze I mean it will cease to respond to any button presses.

It's a very simple procedure to reboot an iPod classic. First of all though, just double check you haven't left the lock enabled (that's the sliding switch on the top left of your iPod) – it should be over to the left.

Okay, to reboot your iPod classic and remove the freeze, hold down the Menu button at the top of the wheel and the centre button until your iPod screen goes dark, then release them. Before long the screen should display the Apple symbol showing that it is rebooting. Job Done!
